The Extender Bench by Executive Wood Products is a beautiful solid maple hardwood table with butcher block top designed for the electronics department of a major military depot. It can be used as a stand-alone product, or to extend the work surface of our Workbench. The Extender Bench also allows two Workbench stations to create an "L" shape configuration.
The base of the Extender Bench is painted black and appears to be metal, however the solid maple construction is far superior in terms of safety when using it within electronics applications.

Each of the four solid maple legs will be constructed from a block of laminated maple hardwood to a final dimension of 3" x 3" outside to outside with a radius on all exposed edges. There is a total of eight support stretchers. Four directly underneath the work surface (upper stretchers) and four (lower stretchers) that reside 8" above the floor on the top side of the lower stretchers. All stretchers feature solid maple construction with superior joinery techniques for strength and durability.
The overall height of the Extender Bench at the top of the work surface is 34" to match the work surface of the Workbench should it be used within a Workbench system.
Finish
The Extender Bench is sanded smooth to assure a good adherence of the finishes. We utilize a conversion varnish system for a beautiful final finish. All applications with the exception of the final clear coat will include hand sanding/wiping between coats.
For all painted surfaces, we first utilize a primer coat. We then apply the color finish in our state-of-the-art spray room and dry according to the manufacturers specifications for a perfect finish. Finally, a clear coat with satin finish is applied to create a beautiful end product.
The butcher block work surface is sanded smooth and finished in a clear, durable, non-static generating polyurethane finish. This is applied with a minimum of 3 coats in a satin finish with hand sanding between coats.
